The Asian Fix
Instagram vlog guide for asian food culture in Stockholm
Creator, Writer, Video Producer
Background & Concept
The Asian Fix is a personal video project exploring Asian food culture in Stockholm, created in both English and Japanese. Framed as a local guide by an Asian local, the channel was also conceived as a cultural reference point for Asian visitors seeking familiar flavours while travelling in Europe.
The project began as a space to experiment with filming, editing, and social video formats, while sharing places, flavours, and cultural references I genuinely enjoy. Beyond restaurant recommendations, The Asian Fix explores food as culture — including reflections on Japanese food in film, conversations with shop owners and producers, and reviews of Asian food products available in Sweden.
A core principle of the channel is authenticity: featuring food, people, and places I personally enjoy and can genuinely recommend, while paying attention to representation and the stories of the people behind the food.
Outcome
While modest in scale, the project organically attracted a small, engaged audience and led to early outreach from local restaurants interested in collaboration. Most importantly, it functioned as a space for creative play, learning, and cultural expression outside of client work, centred on a subject matter close to my heart. The project is currently paused, with plans to revisit it in the future.
